St. Rule Street, Planning Permission for a change of use Development.

Stomor (stomor.com) are delighted to have assisted The Keen Partnership in obtaining Planning Permission for a change of use development in Wandsworth, London.  The site is currently occupied by a five-storey building containing nine flats on the upper four floors and three vacant units on the ground floor. The vacant units on the ground floor previously had planning permission for commercial purposes.

Redevelopment proposals comprise the change of use of the existing commercial units on the ground floor and reconfiguration of the first floor to provide 3no. one-bedroom flats and 3no. two-bedroom flats.

A review of the Environment Agency’s (EA) Flood Maps identified the site as being located within Flood Zone 3a. However, by undertaking an analysis of site specific modelled flood levels taken from the Thames Tidal Upriver Breach Inundation Modelling Study 2017 and outlining a range of flood resilience measures, Stomor were able to demonstrate that the change of use development proposals could be considered acceptable, in  terms of flood risk, and in accordance with EA technical guidance.

This project demonstrates that by utilising our experience within this sector, Clients are able to progress with development proposals for sites in challenging locations.
